The Witney Mills Youth Section was reformed in 2013. The main aim is to get youngsters playing and enjoying cricket at Witney Mills CC with the hope that they will go on to represent the Club, District, County and beyond if that is their desire.

We have ECB-qualified coaches who are also first-aid trained, a Welfare Officer, and all the equipment you’ll need. We aim to be inclusive, involving youth members in playing organised cricket in addition to the weekly training.

We charge £45 which covers all the summer coaching sessions and includes the Junior Club Membership fee. Rates for any further children in your family will be £30 each, again including the Junior Membership fee. We believe this represents very good value for money, with weekly training and coaching from early May through to the end of August.

Please go to the relevant age group page for training days and time.

We have limited capacity in each age group to ensure we can give each child a good coaching experience. Training lasts all summer, continuing through the holidays to the end of August; the only thing that stops us is the weather.

The club has all the equipment needed for coaching sessions so if your child is new to the sport there is no need to go to a great deal of expense. Please note that for the Under-9 age groups and below we only use plastic Kwik Cricket equipment and lightweight wind balls. Wooden bats are not permitted in training or games at this age. For U9's you just need to ensure your children wear something practical which you do not mind getting a little grubby. For U11's,U13's & U15's add a jockstrap or box-briefs, and a cricket box. When the warmer weather finally arrives, it is also advisable to wear a cap, sun cream and bring a water bottle. For those who like to dress as cricketers, we have no objection to seeing them in their whites!

It is the club’s intention to make the transition from beginning as a youth cricketer, moving through all the age groups, and finally finishing in our adult cricket team as seamless as possible in a friendly community club.

Witney Mills Cricket Club is in the process of attaining the ECB Clubmark accreditation, signifying that it meets rigorous safety standards.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Head Youth Coach Neil Ireson on juniors@witneymillscc.co.uk or contact the club through this website.
